Synopsis

Berlin 1933. Anna (Riva Krymalowski) is only nine years old when her life changes forever. Her father Arthur Kemper (Oliver Masucci), a well-known Jewish journalist, must flee to Zurich to escape the Nazis. His family – Anna, her twelve-year-old brother Max (Marinus Hohmann) and her mother Dorothea (Carla Juri) – follow him shortly afterwards. Anna must leave everything behind, not only her beloved housekeeper Heimpi (Ursula Werner), but also her pink cloth rabbit, and face a new life full of challenges and privations in a foreign country. And not just once either, because Zurich is by no means the final stop.
