Synopsis
Popular psychotherapist Max (August Zirner) has two teenage daughters, a headstrong ex-wife Loretta (Barbara Auer) for a best friend, too many peculiar patients to keep up with and a new, melancholic dog. He certainly doesn’t need another challenge. But when Sophie (Johanna ter Steege), a charming compulsive gambler with a boyfriend problem, regularly shows up late for appointments, Max’s world begins to unravel. And then the unthinkable happens: he falls in love with his patient. How can he help her without meddling? How can he love her without losing her? Torn between reason and passion, between his patient and the woman he loves, Max must learn the truth of those airplane safety instructions: assist yourself before assisting others.
